Sherry - just wanted to let you know that thus far everything is going well with Diamond, who is now known as Skye. The girls are being responsible, my husband loves her to death, and we are having no issues of any consequence.
She is a wonderful dog, we feel so lucky to have her in our lives. Of course as she gets more comfortable with us she tries to test us and isn't quite the perfect angel we knew last week. But nothing too bad, and we need to be tough to make it clear who's in charge. (things like whining in her crate when she is first "put to bed"). We aren't giving in, and she loses interest after a few minutes. We plan on going to obedience school with her soon.
She's a real squirrel/chipmunk/cat chaser and would love to run off leash but that's way too risky right now as she doesn't really know her name. So we're keeping a tight reign on her (a halter collar has been good so she isn't straining at the neck) and trying to distract her when a tempting critter comes into her sight.
I can't thank you enough for your time and help in this process. You run a great organization. I 've met 4 other people who also adpted through you and everyone is so happy

An update on Rosie, she is doing very well and is the sweetest dog ever. She has settled in and become a loving member of the family. She tends to terrorize the cat, but oddly enough the cat seems to enjoy it because he comes back for more and never takes advantage of his opportunities to get away.

I just want to thank Sherry and the staff for an awesome visit yesterday and the opportunity to bring home our new family member. We have named her Nina and she is amazing. She has fit right in and made herself at home. It is like she has always been here with us. Thank you again so much and we are looking forward to coming over to help out for some open houses! See you soon!!

Zion, formally Parker, is such a success story. He is now a service dog for a member of my family with a disability and a therapy dog as well. He is just an awesome dog who travels every where with us. He has been on airplanes, trains,to amusement parks and countless other places. He is always a gentleman and brings smiles to so many people. Thank you Puppy Angels for matching him with our family!

I heard about your website through my grandson's kindergarten class who have been raising money for Puppy Angels. I love what you are doing for the dogs who need help. Thank you very much. I am more of a cat person because a dog is a little to much work for me but I just had to let you know we all appreicate what you are doing to help the animals in need.

I often stop by and visit this site since adopting "Lester", now known as Dustin, in March of 2009 and thought I would share how he has become such a valuable member of the family. He is full of love and play and is definitely a "people" dog. When out for a walk, people often comment that he looks like Petey from the Little Rascals and immediately want to pet him. He certainly does not mind the attention! I realized that Puppy Angels does not have a picture of him so I will be sure to send one. Thank you for the work you do to ensure that these animals have a loving home and that our home now has Dustin.

Thank you for the work you do! I adopted an English Pointer-a female just like Pepper who you have showing available. This breed is extremely smart and very active with lots of energy. I would just love to add him to our family but can not at this time, but that doesn't stop me from checking on him - almost daily. I hope he gets a loving home soon.

To all Puppy Angels and staff. Thank you for the opportunity to foster and then adopt my new best friend Romeo. He is smart, and funny, and he certainly brings some sense of accomplishment to my life. I am so glad to be able to give him a home along with my other two rescue girls, and if I could, I would foster 10 more. The only problem for me is I guess I can't give them up once they come into my home and my heart. ahe loves us, like we love him. I couldn't ask for more. Thank you.

My family and I came back to puppy angels because my sister is thinking about adopting a dog. We started browsing the website when we came across pictures of our two "puppy angels" in the adoption sucess stories. Their names were Boris and Rhoda (now Harry Potter and Bonnie Bell). The kids were so excited to see their puuppies' pictures on your website. They thought it was very cool that you had their current estimated age which is not 2 years 10 months and 2 years 9 months. They are both very loved and are extremely happy and healthy! Thank you!

We thought you would love to know that Jasmine, who we adopted in August 09, is now named Phoebe and is happy and healthy. She stretches out between us at night and snores softly. We love her. She and her new "brother," Tundra get along so well! Thank you so much Puppy Angels! We hope her real brother, Gunner, is just as happy in his new home.

Dear Puppy Angels:
We adopted Lexie, a Puerto Rican Sato, one of the Petie Pack, in August, 2008 when she was 3 ½ months old. Since that time she has continued to be a total joy and delight. Thank you so very much for bringing her into our lives. She is a blessing!!
Lexie is now 16 lbs and a total love bug. She loves to cuddle and go to sleep on your lap. She can jump 6 feet horizontally from the floor onto the sofa and her favorite food is lobster. She also howls or as some people call it – yodels. We had her DNA tested and it came back as saying mostly undefinable, should see Chinese Sharpei and may see Pomeranian. We see the Chinese Sharpei as she has wrinkles on her forehead and we call it her “worried” look. We are still trying to find the Pomeranian in her. The test did not test for Chihuahua or Jack Russell Terrier but several people in the dog field have suggested independently that those breeds are also in her and we agree. Whatever is in the rest of her has made her an absolutely great dog to have in our lives.
Lexie asked me to let you know that she attends doggy daycare 2 ½ days per week, has completed basic obedience classes 1 & 2, and learned how to dance – spin, twirl, weave, etc. She even performed at a local animal shelter event. She also has private training lessons one day a week while at doggy daycare to deal with distraction issues and master her agility skills. She has also completed agility classes 1 & 2 and is now in the intermediate class. Of special note is that one of her classmates, Jackie – another Puerto Rican Sato – also came from Puppy Angels. Lexie, Jackie and their other classmates are so excited to see each other before class that they get to play together for a few minutes before class starts. It is really both fun and funny to see them play together.
Thank you again for bringing Lexie into our lives. We hope to see again at future Puppy Angel events!!

I went to help out 4 years ago and ended up with Lincoln, formerly known as Timmy. He now enjoys wrestling with his older sister Riley (black lab x blue healer) and older brother Ty (black lab x terrier) and is excelling at agility and of course, following me around...everywhere. I don't know what I'd do without my little "pumpkin mushy face"

Hi we are letting you know how Van (now named Jake) is doing. We adopted him on May 30th,2009. He completed his first puppy training class and passed with flying colors he is extremely smart. He is now 41#'s getting real tall. The only bad behavior he has is that he doesn't like to be in a crate! He loves to be with people and is attached to me at my hip so seperating sometimes is difficult!
We want to thank Puppy angels for allowing us to adopt Jake he is a joy to have, just like having a new child!

hi Angels
I wanted to send you an update on Zion (formally Parker). Zion passed his advanced training class last Thursday and went on to his AKC CGC test Sunday. The AKC evaluator said in her years of training and evaluating only 1 other dog has earned a "perfect" evaluation rating other than Zion. She will be testing him later in the summer for his therapy dog certification (which she said he could pass easily right now) so that we can involve our children in some therapy dog work to repay the gift of having Zion in our family. He is a wonderful dog and everyone who meets him loves him and wants to take him home. Even people who normally are afraid of dogs or don't like them quickly fall in love with Zion. My son has been diagnosed with ADHD and has difficulty with settling down and falling asleep. We found that Zion has a magical calming presence that allows Patrick to relax and drift right off-getting 1-2 hours more sleep a night. This has led to better grades in school, better behavior and has helped keep him off medication so far. In fact, his pediatrician feels so strongly about the benifits of having Zion, she has written him letters allowing us to have Zion as a service dog! Zion will now be allowed to travel with us this summer and will be visiting Florida and Colorado over a period of 6 weeks. Thanks to Puppy angels for making all this a reality. To think Zion was a stray slated for death in a matter of days is now beyond comprehension.
thanks again for all that you do

Sherry & Puppy Angels volunteers,
As Jake’s one year anniversary with us approaches, I wanted to give you an update on him. It’s hard to believe that Jake has only been with us for a year, there have been so many wonderful times already with him. Jake has made my husband Darren and I so happy, we can’t remember our lives before him. Jake is the true definition of a Great Dane: Gentle, loyal, and loving. At 150 pounds, Jake is a true gentle giant. He just loves attention and affection.
We take Jake to the park often where he is able to run and play in the ocean, he just loves it! Maybe some day he will actually swim! He get’s a lot of attention there from strangers which has helped him get more comfortable with new people. He is great with children and stands there patiently while they pet and hug him. We know Jake will be great with our baby that is due this fall.
Darren and I feel so fortunate to have such a wonderful dog (or son as we call him). Thank you for bringing us together and for all that you do. You and your volunteers make it possible for these dogs to have another chance at a great life. Jake is a true example of what wonderful shelter dogs are out there waiting to be adopted.
Jake is truly our best friend. He has made our house into a home and a couple into a family. Thank you!
-Christine & Darren in Massachusetts

She is so smart and loving. She plays every day with her best friend Spirit, another Puppy Angels rescue. I went to your open house convinced I wanted a yellow lab, but I absolutely fell in love with this little black and white pup. Thank you again for being so kind and for taking such good care of the dogs! What a great program!

Very mischievious, loves his toys, and even trys to play with our cats! Everyone loves him, and his unusual coloring and features gain him LOTS of attention whenever we go out. He gets along with all the other dogs at the local dog park, and we have learned that he LOVES to race! Agility is in his future, we think he will be a superstar!

I am one of Annie's Puppies and have just celebrated my second birthday thanks to my wonderful family at Puppy Angels. I am very loved and happy with my adoptive family. I get to play with children, cats (YUK! Mom says I have to be nice) and sometimes my other dog friends. I get to go for long rides and share a Happy Meal with my 3 year old human best friend Sheena, when Mom's not looking in the mirror. Then I get to sleep as long as I want in front of the fireplace on my fluffy bed. I just wanted to give you a little update and say Thanks again Puppy Angels for being there when my Natural Mommy, Annie, all of my 14 siblings and I needed you! Hugs and kisses, Love Dawson
